WHY DASHIKI?
It is a loose fitting shirt or tailored shirt (often
v-shaped) often with elaborate or simple embroidery, patterns around the neck,
chest and sleeve lines. The shapes of the neck line may also vary.
Why do people love dashiki's so much?

Dashikis are very comfortable, especially in warm weather because of their loose fit.
The size makes them an easy wear for anyone!
Some
dashikis come with closed neck line, some v-neck lines, square neck lines, and
many other shapes and forms.
Dashiki comes in different patterns and designs.
It includes a few traditional buttons, a clip buttons, Velcro, or a hook and
eye closure to secure the neck line. it is made generally out of African print,
brocade, lace, silk suiting, or cotton fabrics. It can be worn by a man or
women and children depending on the cuts and style of the dashiki.
Dashikis can
be casual or dressy. Dashikis can be worn to celebrations, wedding, religious
occasions, special event, casual event and more. It came in various colours and
colours combination to your taste: black, purple, gold, white, dark green, red,
lime green, blue etc. and combinations such as brown and gold, blue and silver
and many other combinations.
Dashikis can be worn with pants (typically draw
string pants), could be above knee length coupled with draw string pants, often
referred to as Senegalese, can also be
worn as a straight dress, with jeans trousers, kaba and slit, linen pants and
more. It could also be worn with and without a hat. In Nigeria and many other
African countries, dashikis are worn for comfort in the warm climates.
